1. About Us

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to all purchases made through The Story Collection’s online store, operated via Shopify.

By purchasing from our store, you agree to these Terms.

2. What We Sell

We create personalised digital storytelling experiences, including audio recordings, memory guides, editing, and presentation on a private digital webpage (“Services”). These Services are delivered online and do not require physical shipping.

Some products include access to third-party tools (such as audio recording platforms). Use of those tools may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

3. Eligibility to Purchase

To purchase from our store, you must:

be at least 18 years old

provide accurate and complete billing information

have authority to use the payment method you provide

If you are purchasing a Service for someone else (e.g., grandparents or family members), you are responsible for sharing all instructions and obtaining necessary permissions from those individuals.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD), unless otherwise stated.

Payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments or other supported payment processors.
We do not store your full payment card details.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time.

5. Ordering & Confirmation

Once you place an order, you will receive an email confirmation from Shopify.

Your order is not accepted until payment is received.
We may cancel or refuse an order if:

the information you provide is incomplete or inaccurate

we suspect fraud or misuse

the Service cannot reasonably be delivered

If this occurs, you will be contacted and refunded where appropriate.

6. Digital Delivery

Our storytelling Services are delivered digitally and may include:

a private recording link

digital instructions

audio editing

a private listening webpage

a downloadable or streamable audio file

Delivery timelines are stated on the product page.
For Christmas products, specific deadlines apply (e.g., recordings must be submitted by the stated cut-off date for pre-Christmas delivery).

If recordings are submitted after the stated deadline, the Service will be delivered from the date indicated on the product page.

7. Your Responsibilities

When you purchase a storytelling Service, you are responsible for:

providing correct contact details

sharing the recording instructions and link with your storytellers

ensuring storytellers have consented to recording

ensuring storytellers understand what they are submitting

ensuring no confidential or unauthorised material is provided

You must not submit recordings or content belonging to someone else without their permission.

8. Our Responsibilities

We will:

provide clear instructions

receive and process recordings

edit and prepare your audio story with care

deliver your private webpage or audio file by the stated date (or as updated if delayed due to your late submission)

We do not guarantee:

the quality of audio recorded on a user’s device

that all storytellers will complete their recordings

that all stories can be used if the audio is unusable, corrupted, or incomplete

If technical issues occur, we will work with you to resolve them.

9. Refunds & Cancellations

Because our products are custom, personalised digital services, we cannot offer refunds once:

recording instructions have been sent, or

work on your project has begun

You may request a cancellation before work begins.
Cancellations after work commences will not be refunded.

If you accidentally purchase more than one product, please contact us immediately. Refunds for accidental duplicate purchases are issued at our discretion.

If we are unable to deliver the Service due to our own error or exceptional circumstances, we will issue a full or partial refund.

10. Use of Your Story Content

By submitting recordings, stories, or written material, you confirm that:

you have the right to share this content

your storytellers consent to providing their voice and stories

you grant us permission to edit and present the content as part of your purchased Service

We will not share your private content publicly without your explicit written permission.

11. Intellectual Property

We own the rights to the editing, production, design, and digital presentation of the final audio work (excluding the underlying stories, which always belong to your storytellers).

You are granted a licence to use, enjoy, and privately share the final product.

You must not:

resell our editing or production work

misrepresent our Services as your own

use our branding, design elements, or materials without permission

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss

we are not liable for audio lost due to poor recording quality, user error, or technical issues outside our control

our total liability arising from any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant Service

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use our Services to:

infringe or violate the rights of others

upload or submit harmful, illegal, or abusive content

interfere with the functioning of our website or third-party platforms

We may suspend or refuse service if these rules are violated.

14. Third-Party Services

Our store and Services may rely on third-party providers including Shopify, VoiceForm, Google, and Meta.

We are not responsible for:

the availability or performance of third-party systems

their privacy practices

outages or errors caused by them

Their own terms and conditions apply in addition to ours.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

Any disputes will be dealt with in NSW courts or applicable tribunals.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.
The latest version will always be available through our online store.

By continuing to purchase or use our Services, you accept the updated Terms.
