The Duet: Christmas Edition

1. How does the process work?

Once you purchase one or more Duets, you’ll receive a Welcome Kit and a universal Recording Link to share with your storytellers. They simply tap the link, follow five gentle Christmas prompts, and record their memories from home. No apps, downloads, or logins are required.

2. What if my mum, dad, or grandparent isn’t tech-savvy?

The process is intentionally simple, and most storytellers manage with ease. While it’s rarely needed, having someone familiar with phones or computers sit with them for the first minute can be reassuring. All they need is a device with a microphone. If your family needs guidance at any stage, I am here to support you via email.

3. How long do they need to record for?

Around 15 minutes each.
Five prompts inviting short two-to-three-minute stories.
Gentle, achievable, and never overwhelming.

4. Do they need special equipment?

No. A phone, tablet, or computer with a built-in microphone is perfect.

5. When will the gift be ready?

Recordings received by 12 December will be prioritised for Christmas delivery.
While I cannot guarantee delivery after this date, every effort is made to complete pre-Christmas orders where possible.

Any recordings received after 12 December will be created with care from 6 January 2026.

As a guide, most Christmas Story Collections are completed within two weeks of receiving all recordings.

6. How is the final gift delivered?

Your Christmas Story Collection is presented as a private digital audiobook webpage that you can share with your family anywhere in the world.
You can also download the audio to keep with your personal or family archives.

7. What if only one storyteller records?

The Duet includes space for up to two storytellers, but the price remains the same if only one person records. This keeps the process beautifully simple and reflects the creative work involved in preparing each Story Collection.

8. Can I request edits or changes after the stories are delivered?

Each Story Collection is gently shaped for clarity, warmth, and listening flow.
To keep this a joyful and timely process, The Duet does not include rounds of creative revisions.
If additional edits are desired after delivery, these may be arranged as a separate paid service.

9. Is the audio private?

Yes. Your storytellers’ voices and stories remain completely private.
Only those with your private link can hear the audio.
I will never share your family’s stories without your written permission.

10. Can we download the audio?

Yes. Your listening page includes a download option for your family's safekeeping.

11. Can I purchase more than one Duet?

Yes. Many families purchase additional Duets to capture both sides of the family tree or to include aunties, uncles, godparents, or other cherished Elderflowers.

12. Can this be used for someone who isn’t a grandparent?

Yes. The Duet works beautifully for parents, aunties, uncles, godparents, older siblings, or any Storyteller whose memories you want to hold onto.

13. What if someone is shy or nervous about recording?

The prompts are gentle and forgiving. Storytellers can pause, re-record short sections, or jot down notes beforehand.
Most people find that once they begin speaking, the memories flow and the experience becomes unexpectedly enjoyable.

14. What if the audio quality is poor?

Everyday household noise is completely normal. I enhance and smooth each recording to bring clarity and warmth.
If the audio is severely affected (for example, wind, a damaged microphone, or repeated interruptions), I will be in touch to discuss the best next steps.

15. Is music included?

Yes. Each Christmas Story Collection includes a subtle musical underscore to shape the atmosphere and elevate the listening experience.

16. What is your refund or cancellation policy?

Because this is a personalised creative service, refunds are available only before your Recording Link and Welcome Kit are sent.
Once the link has been shared with you — or once recording has begun — the Story Collection becomes a non-refundable service.

17. Is this a good gift for younger or older generations?

Both. The Duet can be gifted to grandparents, to parents, or directly to children and grandchildren. It becomes a keepsake for now and for many Christmases to come.
